Journal 4-Apr-2023
In the morning I was feeling okay with noticeably more stiffness in my right hip. I had a PT appointment scheduled for the afternoon, so I chose to simply chill and work on other things until my appointment.
My appointment was more of a consultation where my PT and I discussed strategy for moving forward. We came up with a plan to allow me to add more running days into the week by reducing the number of strength-training days and incorporating some of the PT stretches into running days. She also confirmed that I should avoid running and strength training on the same day. I mentioned my strategy for building up mileage over the next few months, and she agreed that it was a reasonable approach.
We agreed to continue with the plan for 2-3 weeks before scheduling another appointment. Unless something goes badly wrong, this may be my last PT session (for this injury). With warmer weather and longer daylight hours on the horizon, I am looking forward to focusing more time on running and being outdoors. That mind shift alone may alleviate my hip pain.
