I awoke with achiness.  After moving around for 15-20 minutes, the achiness dissipated and was replaced with stiffness.  I ignored the minor discomfort and started my PT exercises.  I did not have any issues performing each exercise, the things that were uncomfortable to perform have always been uncomfortable.  After PT exercises I jumped on the bike for 55 minutes.

After cycling I was a little sore.  My right hip was achy, but I am not sure it was any worse than any other bad day. The rest of the day was up and down.  At times I just felt stiffness in both hips, at other times my right side was achy.  I notice that after being at rest (sitting or lying down) the first steps after getting up were awkward, my hips were stiff, and each step elicited pain from my right hip.  But after a dozen or so steps, everything loosened up and sometimes I had no discomfort at all.  The lingering tightness and achiness start in my glute and wrap around my hip.  I’m guessing that is from the strength exercises which focus on my glutes compounded by sitting on a bike for 55 minutes.  My stay-positive side tells me that is a good thing.  Muscles are getting stronger.

It is March now.  Spring is just around the corner. Although my hip issue is certainly my biggest concern right now, my lack of aerobic fitness is starting to also concern me.  I need to improve my aerobic fitness while maintaining a balance with my hip recovery.
